Grooming Hacks and Habits That Every Guy Should Know
These days, men are more aware of the toll that daily work and life stresses can take on their bodies, skin and health.
Being proactive about your appearance and wellness has far-reaching benefits, which is why we’ve rounded up some of the best and simplest grooming habits and hacks for men:
Pay attention to your brows
If your eyes are the widows to your soul, then you don’t want big, bushy brows covering them like curtains. Considering George Clooney and Colin Farrell – it’s easy to argue that larger than life eyebrows aren’t a problem. Bushy brows can be very handsome, but make sure that your brows aren’t meeting each other in the middle. If you’re one of the many men who find it tough to tame your brows, book a quick wax at your nearest spa or ask your barber to tidy up your brows the next time you get your hair cut.
All men should be clipping their nails once a week. This is standard advice. But also pay attention to the bits of flaky skin around your nails. These can easily become inflamed and irritated, especially during the drier winter months. Invest in a bit of moisturiser to keep the dry, flaky bits at bay. Better still, why not go for a regular MANicure!
Basic care for your feet
While not many people will be seeing your feet in winter, it’s a good idea to establish a year-round feet care routine. Clip your toenails weekly, invest in a heel exfoliator stone to get rid of dry skin on your heels and lather your heels with moisturiser afterwards.
Exfoliate your skin
You don’t have to buy into the marketing jargon of ‘microbeads’ in face scrubs to appreciate the value of a regular exfoliation routine. A textured face wash will remove any dead skin and make it feel soft and smooth. You only have to use an exfoliating wash once a week (the rest of the time, stick to a normal daily wash that’s less abrasive).
Take care of your smile
You can groom yourself until you’re blue in the face, but if you have bad teeth, the rest won’t matter. A man’s smile is one of the things that women notice first, so invest in an annual check-up with your dentist and an electric toothbrush. These toothbrushes have been proven to remove more plaque build-up than regular toothbrushes and the best part is that they do most of the work for you.
